Default OBD II Readers

Can someone tell me why my OBD II Code reader will not work on an '07 Magnum with a 3.5L engine?

My reader keeps saying Error instead of reading codes and erasing them.

If the OBD II will not work, what kind of code reader are we supposed to use?

Thank you.

What model reader do you have and has it worked before?

You need a scanner that can read CAN or IHS bus system. Snap-on or mopar.
