Default 2005 RT transmission leak...

OK, i've got a 2005 RT Magnum and the transmission has a leak. I've looked underneath and it looks like the transmission solenoid is leaking. I start to unscrew the electrical plug and fluid comes out of the threads.... My question is this something easy to change on this tranny or do I need to take it in to the shop? Also, is there a gasket kit for the solenoid or does the whole thing need to be replaced? The car shifts fine, not harsh or does it get stuck in gear..

Thanks

If you have the NAG1 transmission, the guide bushing seal are what is leaking. You need to replace the guide bushing, and be careful not to over tighten the 7mm bolt. If you snap off the bolt head, then you would have to replace electric part of the valve body.

Shouldn't that be covered by the powertrain warranty?

The bushing maybe covered, but you would need to have the dealer run a fuction 14 to see if its covered.
