Default Noticeable vibrations that come & go

Hi Magnum People,

I've got a vibration (that feels like a wheel slightly out of balance) that keeps occurring.

It even happens at such slow speeds that it can't be wheel balance.

All my wheels are totally balanced.
My entire suspension has been scrutinised by a specialist, who said everything was absolutely spot-on, totally accurate and not even a hint of free play anywhere.

But when it happens, there's moderate shaking through the steering wheel and the seat, making it impossible to pinpoint to either the front or rear.

And sometimes it's hardly noticeable, whilst at others it's like driving a cement mixer!

Have any of you got any suggestions what it might be?

I've read a thread mentioning water leaking into the transmission via the filler tube, making the torque converter and brake bands act strangely.
Could this be the culprit?
I've got an extended powertrain warranty, if that might help on that score...

I am suspecting it to be the wheels (balance issues) and / or prop shaft balance.

A friend who works at Ward Tyres told me that, unless you've got good quality high-speed rated tyres, they can slip on the rim under hard acceleration, thus putting them back out of balance again.

When I find out I'll let you know.

When I changed my wheels to my Winter set, the vibes effectively disappeared.
I therefore think the problem lies there somewhere...

Take a look at the hanger bearing...that's what was wrong with mine. The vibration started as soon as I let go of the brake and the car started rolling.
Unfortunately for me, it happened in the middle of winter and I didn't have the inclination of looking for the problem myself so I took it in to the dealers whom changed my upper control arms with no change... mind you they needed to be changed. When I brought back with the complaint that they didn't fix it, they changed the back bearing of the transmission, yet again with no resolution.
The third time around, they had my car for an extended period of time giving me a loner charger for the couple of days. Finally they determined that it was the hanger bearing after uncoupling the drive shaft from the tranny. No offense to them, but I would have done so much sooner than they did just to isolate the noise and vibrations.

Thanks SurgesMagnum,

I'll get my driveline looked at ASAP.
At least to get my prop balance checked.

I also suspect the rubber cush joints at either end of the prop shaft may be worn out, but at $300 each, they'll not be changed in a hurry!
