Won't shift out of Park
parked the car on Wednesday no indication of trouble when trying to go somewhere on Thursday the car will not shift out of park. Any thoughts on what to do with this and how can it be towed as is parked engine in? Did see a possible recall/issue with this on another thread is this 2005 Dodge Magnum in that recall?

Can't shift out of park
What you have is a Shift Interlock Latch broke! They are plastic and the ring that holds the spring is broken. You can buy a better one on Amazon or through your local auto parts dealer if they can get Dorman Parts (924-706) runs about 28 bucks.
There is an excellent youtube on line by Jeff Williams which details how to change it if you are a DIY guy. If not do not try to tow without releasing the Park cable. To get it out of park start your car take the top beauty ring off of the console and in the front on the left side (using a flashlight) you will see a cable running front to back. Stick a screwdriver down in the slot and push the cable to the left with your foot on the brake and move it out of park. You now can use the shift lever but DON'T put it back in park. Use your parking brake when you stop. Now you can drive it wherever. Good luck! Ken C.
