Default Help! with my 96 neon timing belt/ crankshaft pulley

I'm trying to change the timing belt on my 96 neon. The crankshaft pulley is stuck. Even with a crank puller I can only get it to move out an inch or two. Anyone know any tricks to removing it. Thanks for any advice given.

heat the centerup with a torch and then use the crank pully tool while it's still hot

no no no...

I wouldent do that if I were you... the crank is powder forged and it WILL weaken it...

The correct way to do it is...

A puller with three 6mm bolts that are at least 3-1/2" in lenth. Youwill need some washers to keep the head of the bolts from slipping through the slots in the puller .

has anyone ever broken a neon crank???????????

I guess if you weaken it you won't be able to use your 500 shot of NOS LOL

what he's saying may be correct but I've done this around 15 times and never had a problem

Or there is a special tool I bought from mac tools, made the job a piece of cake. Dodge dont want normal people fixing their cars, so they make stuff ultra hard to work on, unless you have the correct tool. I borrowed the tool from a dodge dealer mechanic the first time I did it, then I went and bought it for future fixes..was around $110 I think..
