Default srt-4 turbo

I ran into this guy at a gas station. he put a stage 2 in his srt. He was selling his old turbo for 600 with intercooler manifold and everything. i was close to getting it untill i relized my motor is a 2.0. i didnt no if it was going to make a diffrence but my friend said the compression would be diffrent anyway. is this tru or did he just want to buy it? What would be done to make it work, or is it just worth getting a turbo for my car. I dont have $, im only 18 so if it would work tehn i probley can find one for a good price.[]

The biggest problem you have there is the manifold is for a dual cam. Being that yours is single cam its not going to just bolt up. I've seen over on neons.org that someone had an adaptor plate or something along those lines that would allow you to bolt up an SRT manifold. Thats really you're biggest problem that I know of, is the manifolds won't bolt straight up to your SOHC.

I'm 98 percent finished putting an SRT manifold onto my 1g ACR right now, and i'll tell you this, you'll never fit an adapter plate AND a manifold into the engine bay... i'm 1/8th of an inch from the brakelines on the firewall.

I'd do it, man... but plan on a head swap, and it's NOT an easy bolt-in install.

Or you can buy a new manifold from Chill Factory. So, in escence, yes, you can bolt the SRT turbo to your car. You aren't going to have to swap heads.

Isn't the turbo and manifold all one piece?

No.

You can see in the middle of the picture there are two halves. One half is the turbo (Top part of the picture) and then on the bottom you have the manifold.

This is my Super 16 G.

I was talking about the SRT4 turbo/manifold. I could of swore that it was a cast piece, as in if you want the turbo off you had to cut it off the manifold.

Yes, but you also have to make sure that the manifold will also have the correct flange for the turbo. I believe the SRT is a T3/T4 and is a pretty common bolt pattern.

Oh, sorry Dave. I didn't know.

Honestly I don't know if the SRT manifold and turbo are cast. So I couldn't really tell you. If it really is cast I'm gonna have to go with thats pretty stupid. Especially when or if the turbo goes bad you have to replace the manifold too. Not a good idea IMO.

I'm going to see if I can find out if it is or not.
