Default Car dies while being driven

Hi all,

I am new and need your help.

My teen daugter is driving a 2001 Dodge Neon (automatic) that has on several occasions died while it was in motion. Each time, the car starts right up again, but it is unnerving for it to die like this.

We took it to the shop where we were told that the car is not throwing any codes. The camshaft and crankshaft sensors were replaced.

The problem persists. It does not happen every day.

We've noticed that the car also has difficulty starting at times. This does not happen in the same trip as when the car dies but a day or two before.

Any suggestions are appreciated. The mechanic is puzzled by the lack of codes and seems unable to diagnose the problem without them. We obviously do not want our daughter on the highway with a car that may just stop.

Not a lot to go on. My first thought would be to swap out the auto shutdown relay and/or the fuel pump relay. Possibly an intermittent in the ignition switch or in the wiring from the ignition switch to the PCM. Pretty much anything else should show a code.
