without anyone reliable to fix the car, i recommend just looking for a new one, unless your really hell bent on keeping it, its gona take time, money, and guidance to help you fix it yourself.

Having a problem with 2002 Neon, for some reason there is water in the back floorboards even when its not raining! No water at all on front seat floorboards. Have had it to several mechanics and they all tell me this is impossible even when they see it themselves. Has anyone else had this problem? Help! This is driving me crazy! LOL

I have an '02 neon with 70k miles. The check engine light has come on indicating a large evap emission leak. I've changed the gas cap, pcv valve, spark plugs and wires and air filter. All of the hoses I can see look like they're in great condition. The car is used for city stop & go driving, so I use STP fuel injector & carb cleaner every other tank or so. Any ideas? Any one else have this problem?

jdp4011, I too have a similar problem to yours as well with my 02 neon. Not to mention that my trunk lets water in somehow. I figured that the taillight assembly is somehow letting the water into the trunk area via the inside lip where the trunk lid rests at. Is there anyway of covering the gap between the taillight assembly and the trunk? Theres about a 1/2" gap. I tried tape already, that didn't work out :P

Default re: thinking of buying 01 neon

My neon is a 2002 with 69k on it and has been flawlessly taken care of it's entire life, but has recently had several transmission problems. I wouldn't buy it if i were you.

Default transmission fluid in my coolant

I have a problem! I was driving my car and it was fine then suddenly it won't budge in drive or reverse. I checked the tranny fluid it's low so i put in a qrt. the car will go in drive and reverse then just won't again. the tranny fluid I just put in is all over the ground. a mechanic i know comes by and looks at it he says it's not leaking from the tranny lines its leaking out the back-up for the coolant jug. Now I'm just a girl but even I know that the tranny fluid shouldn't be in the coolant tank and no i didn't put it in there i put it in the same hose the dip stick for the tranny is in.. whats something like that going to A. run me and B.take to fix? thanx in advance

Make sure electricity is getting to the fuel pump and the injectors.

The transmission fluid flows from the transmission into the radiator (in a seperated compartment inside it) then back to the transmission. This is done to cool the transmission. If your friends is correct then it is possible though rather unlikely that the transmission built up too much pressure in the transmission cooler and it just happened to release into the transmission blowing it into the resevoir tank. I don't know how this would happen but it sounds like you would need a transmission flush and filter along with a new radiator. You should definitely have a professional look into the problem though. I would take it to a transmission specialist first.

Default srt 4 wont start randomly

ok i have a 04 srt 4, i can get in it start it it will run fine for as along as i go, but as soon as i stop and let it sit for 5 to 10 mins it will not start again, the engine is cranking, i had the battery starter and alternator checked and they all are good. now if i let it sit another 10 or 15 mins after trying it and try again it will start right up and run fine, also if i shut it off and immediately try to start it back up it will start just fine. i replaced the fuel pump, spark plugs and cam shaft positiong sensor thus fAR. I have diagnose that when it is not starting it is not getting fuel. but the fuel pump does kick on every time i key on.. any suggestions would be great!! going ona about two weeks now!!!

Default still trouble starting

ok, i have an update now, if, when its not starting i immediately remove the fuel line going to the fuel rail (relieving pressure) then plug it back it, the car will immediately start and run great.. again any ideas will be greatly appreciated... any chance it could be the throttle positioning sensor? or the fuel pump it self?

We have a 2000 Neon and the body control module needs to be replaced (along with a lot of other stuff), but I don't know where to find it. I've searched the internet but can't find anything specific to that year. Anyone know?

Question 2003 Neon Issue

I have a 2003 Dodge neon and it sputters, like a really bad dead miss, when I put it into gear. When I put it back into park for a couple of minutes and then back into gear it seems to be ok. It also has a dead miss action, not as bad as the other time, when I stop at a stop sign. This one is intermittent.
I replaced the plugs a couple of months back.

I have used Injector cleaner but no change.

Any ideas?

Question Sometimes headlights won't turn on

I have a 2001 Dodge Neon and have started having trouble with the headlights. Sometimes they won't come on and sometimes they will. When they don't turn on, I turn them off and on several times, but it doesn't help. I can see the running lights are on, but not the headlights. Then the next time I get in the car, they will work just fine. Where should I start looking for the problem?
