still love my 6.7 3 gear tire smoke today man I love that truck my has not had any problems yet hope it stays that way but I do expect some problems on a new truck with a new motor so far could not be better

Was down at my local dealer the other day, they have 6- 5.9's left.Get em while you can!

I couldn't finda 5.9like I wanted but with the 6.7 I got the jake brake which I love.

I can't remember who but I think someone traded for a 6.7
I traded my 2004.5 Quad Cab 5.9L w/4-speed auto for a 2007.5 Mega Cab 6.7L w/6-speed auto. I have driven both engines in stock configuration. I prefer the new 6.7L combo, mostly for the transmission. The engine is quiet and pulls strong. The transmission is a lot smoother than the 4-speed and has a thumb toggle "auto shift" to manually gear down. Plus, as mentioned, the exhaust brake is sweet.

To address the recent problem with the 6.7L engine problem (DPF clogged), DC released a PCM Flash on 12 June. My truck had this done the day before I bought it off the lot (it was built in Feb 07). I have had ZERO issues with it.

The Technical Service Bulletin is 18-033-07 Rev A. After this service is performed the dealer is required by law to place a sticker on the front right of the engine compartment indicating the modifications performed. The TSB number and part number will be written on it. I also had a sticker on the PCM (firewall - passenger side). "Rev A" may or may not be written, but you can confirm the part number (below) which varies based on model (2500 vs 3500), transmission, and emissions certification (Fed vs. CA).

Quoted from Turbo Diesel Register:
"Part Numbers" for TSB 18-033-07 REV.A [hr] This number should appear on the "modification label" after a reflash is done:

[ CALIFORNIA NUMBERS ARE DIFFERENT! THESE ARE FED NUMBERS. ]

3500 auto - #55351105 AT

3500 man - #55351100 AT

2500 auto - #55350105 AT

2500 man - #55350100 AT

No distinction is given for cab/chassis models

I really never wanted the 6.7 but I sure wouldnt mind the 6 speed auto. It sounds like the gmc allison tranny with the pushbutton shift.

You can bet he took a big loss in the pocket book when he traded them all in for them new Ferds. He will also find out they will not tow or haul as much as the diesel engine could. I also find it funny he did not give Dodge a chance to get the new flash in to the ECU to correct the problem but some people have more money then brains so what can I say except[sm=loser.gif]

to all who are in the market for buying a 6.7 with all of that emission junk on the exhaust, DO NOT. I am a pipeliner working in chicago area. My contractor bought 10 of these 07 dodges' with the V8 cummins, they have all stalled andbrokedown and are currently being replacedby ford gas burners. Here's why, YOU CAN NOT IDLE THESE ENGINES. yea that's right, a diesel work truck that you can't idle. That's useless.

dude you can idle them just like anything else. You arn't supposed to idle the 5.9 for long periods of time either. If you do it gets down to temps where not all the fuel is burned and it eats off all the oil from the cylinder walls. I think that's what happens. I know for sure tho that it will not burn all the fuel. It's called Wet-Stacking. O and dude almost every brand new design has issues. This is a common thing so I don't see what your wiggin out about.

i bought the cab&chassis 6.7 cummins dually w/6spd auto and its done great untill now that i started working it....we are on a 16' line in midwest wy and im on the firing line puttin the lids on...or making the final weld(capping).the setups are only 40' apart and usually only take 15 to 20 mins.so its hardly practical to turn the ignition off as you may have to turn it off and on 50or 60 times a day...i bet my starter would last about 6 months..so,ive left it idling and i guess if the new motor idles for 58% of the time the catalyst becomes full and you have to drive it at hwy speeds for at least 45 mins,which isnt an option when you are an hour away from any hwy.ive heard that this can cause severe damage to the motor so im almost regrettingthat i boughtanother dodge for a work truck..winters coming soon and when it gets 40 below outside you almost have to leave it running..i heard someone saying that you can have it scanned to idle the motor up or install some sort of gadget to idle it up when its in park but so far those are just rumors.id sure appreciate some advice or information if anyone knows anything about a fix or remedy..
