Default Best mods for the money

Well im new to these forums. I went today and traded in my 2002 1500 qc 4X4 with the 4.7L and bought a 2006 2500 qc 4X4 with the CTD. I was wondering what mods would be the best to start with. Was wondering what tuners would be the best also. Any suggestions would helpful. Thanks guys. Oh the ctd rocks hated the 4.7

First off in my opinion would be to
ditch the kitty. Then remove the muffler and get a AERO
it help give ya that low end torq and has a good sound.
Last , but not least a Cold Air Intake. A good CAI
will help out a lot.
Remember a engine is a vacum pump air in air out.
Better flow equals more power.

as mentioned... CAI & exhaust are great places to start. An Edge EZ isanother entry level performance box.

Becareful if you go with a bigger chip than the ez. You'll toast your trans if your not careful. With any chip, you'll also want a good set of gauges.

Edge attitude you can burn things up if your not careful. The edge ez is only a 65 horse box and that about as high as you can go before you have trans problems. The edge attitude and edge comp will go up to 120 horse easily capable of destroying your trans, and if your not watching your pyro, you could loose a few cylinders too.

Ikeep the Edge on 1 or 2 if towing, I don't plan on going any higher than that. What is the highest post turbo temp can you have without doing any damage?

Im planning on installing a egt gauge and a tranny temp gauge both from Bully Dog. Are there any more gauges that I need to worry about? And also will these mods void my trucks warranty? Im so glad I traded my old truck in. Has anyone here used the cai from airraid or is there something better than that? Thanks

Before spending money on modifying your air intake
you might read this article from 8-Lug Diesel Magazine
where they correctly compared
new paper filters to new CAI
instead of playing the very common trick
of comparing an old dirty factory air filter run for days on dusty dirt roads
to a new CAI:

http://www.dieselpowermag.com/tech/g...ers/index.html

In terms of 'effective' mods, take a clue from engineers at Chrysler Tech Center.
Dodge has gone to 19.5 tires
on the new 3500 Cummins Cab/chassis with Aisin 6 speed.
It is worth studying up on the pros/cons of these tires
their lower rolling resistance and long tread life boost fuel economy and performance
but their wet/dry braking is slightly less.
