Ball joint problems.
I have a friend who owns a 2000' Dodge Ram 2500 SLT, Cummins Diesel. He says he's had to replace the ball joints at least once a month. Are ball joints a common porblem amoung any of you guys who own Dodge Rams? is it very costly for ball joints to be replaced?

every month, somthin else was wrong. With my big tires ive had to replace my hub bearings but with the auto lock hubs you gotta replace the whole thing and all 4 balljoints. Total job was 836. But i got connections and some beer so you save some coin you know.

that seems a bit excessive, Ive got over 16,000 on the ticker on mine and no wear yet on my ball joints. I'm wondering if the shop is greasing them properly during install.
he might need to look into getting a different maker for his ball joints, Moog makes a good one thats greasable.

The boots on mine wore out finally and I got mine replaced with Moog. Hopefully I don't have to worry about it for a while since its expensive to fix. They shouldn't be wearing out every month on your friend's ride though.

Ok, thanks guys, hope that will solve the problem, if not, make less ball joint replacements.
