Default 98 24v question?

Hey guys just got home with my 98 dodge 2500 24 valve Auto transmission. So I noticed on the way home the RPM tech was jumping from 1300 to 1600 RPM in I think 3rd gear I was going 45 MPH?? Is this normal or is something wrong it sound normal don't hear any variation in the moter at all could it be the gage?

sounds like tc, or trans? how many miles? and also, beware of the 53 block with your 24v, if your planning on doing any kind of upgrades it will not hold up.

first thing i would look at is how clean battery cables are. make sure they are very clean and battery posts are as well dirty cables cause the alternator to put out spikes in voltage and this causes the torque converter to lock and unlock . if the cables are clean i would have someone check the accelerator position sensor and possibly a check on the torqe converter clutch if it is all possible with their scan tool

Ya I did clean all the batt cables and it did not help I did not do the the Alt cables but what I did do help with the batt voltage.
So I took the truck back to the dealer Meridian Ford and they will have their mechanic go threw it BUT he told me they thought they fixed it he showed me what they did NEW IP, NEW break pads and flush, changed oil, New glow plugs and a few other things..
So I have my fingers crossed the truck is real clean and I just love it! I also have a Bulldog chip I think the General on the job I am running said make me a offer so I said $75 and he said OK!! SWEEEET
