I have never had any issues with the shifting of this truck the transmission looks fine I one day went to leave my mothers and backed out and then it wouldn't go into drive or park. I tried desperately to mess with everything but inadvertently had to turn it off which means I can't start it but I had to have it towed back home and he looked at it and told me my best option would be to take out a nut near the shift cable underneath and beat it with a hammer. I am clueless and what I should be doing here and have looked behind the steering column that all moves and works fine basically messing with the shifter it's rough and bounces back like it wants to move gear but something is stuck.
Transmission fluid is good as well.
