Default Here is a question that all diesel owners should consider

I know that this can be done but I just don't remember the ratio. While in the Air Force I was stationed at a very remote location where we had problems securing diesel fuel, our solution was to mix motor oil into gasoline I think that it was at a ration of 35 to 1, this is what I am not sure of, the ratio. It was important to add the oil to the fuel tank before the gasoline. Granted these were basic diesel engines, both truck and generators. On more modern engines it might be advisable to add an octane booster. Anyway if you're in a jam and a long way from a fuel stop this information may be a life saver. So if anyone knows for sure the mix ratio a confirmation would be appreciated.
