Default Turbo Boost

I was wondering if anyone knew what the factory psi boost was on na 05 2500. I don't have a boost guage on the truck yet and i was wondering what the max boost from the factory was set at.

also was wondering if anyone played around with the waste gate in the turbo (if it even has a waste) and what would be the safest max boost.

thanks,
mark

max on my 04.5 which has the same engine as your 05 is 35#

if you look in my gallery I have a pic of mine hitting about 33# but as soon as the pressure hit that point the waste gate opens and the boost goes down to about 26# and holds.

the waste gate on these trucks is actuated mechanicaly by computer control and going over 40# on the HX35 turbo is not a good thing seeing that 45# is max the turbo can achieve before it blows apart.

some aftermarket boxes do some type of boost fooling to achieve more power by the addition of more fuel from fooling the computer into thinking there is more air going into the cylinders than there actualy is.

Drew,
are you able to adjust the gate to make it stay at a max preassure?

I dont think that is possable. I know with older models it was possable to delay the opening of the waste gate, but with the new CP3 pumps it is easier to build power useing higher pressure from the pump as opposed to the older P7100 or the VP44 pumps.
