Default RE: SINGLE WHEEL TO DUALLY CONVERSION

I've heard of dually to single conversions done and would like to know if anyone knows any links or anything. or if anyone has a single rear wheel truck that would like to become dually?
i had a 01 cummins single rear wheel and i have a 02 powerstroke single wheel but im thinking of getting an 03 cummins dually and converting it to single rear wheel. now i know what your all going to say, just get the 2500... yeah but i want gvwr to be over 10,000
reason... i get to many tickets for having a massivly lifted truck and would like that california loophole of no restrictions on trucks with gross over 10,000lbs. thats my f250

Im pretty sure the front spindles are differant on a dually. To run the rear wheels up front you gotta change em. I know the spindle on mine is massive and its a dually. O by the way its a sealed bearing assembly [:@]

you might want to look int this a little further, the part number on the axle housing is different on a dually than single rear wheels. i just looked it up.
when we order rear axle housings they are different srw, and drw.

Has anyone converted from single wheel to dually? dosent seem to hard .New fenders ,lights ,wheel hub adapters, and wheels ,from the build sheet on my truck everything on my truck is the same as a dually except the afore mentioned equipment.??
The rear axle housing is wider on a dualy.
This is to put the center of the load in the center of the wheel bearings.
If you use a hub addaptor the load will all be carried on the outer wheel bearing and the inner wheel bearing will have a negative load.
see attachment
Net result is that you will be able to carry less wieght with the dwr conversion with an addaptor than you can with a swr.

ps the front hubs are diiferent also.

u might want to look into the axle housing info a little more the axle code for single rear wheels is DRQ and dual rw is DRX the ratio being the
same the part number for the housing is different. i looked into this once and gave up. we traided my truck last year to get drw.
the axle housing part numbers were 5093001AA if it was DRW and 5086920AA if SRW and that is an empty housing with no internal parts, no brakes etc. i dont know what makes the housing different, it doesnt seem that it should be.

Don't forget beefing up the suspension and brakes if you want a true 3500.
