Common issues
Weak clutch system. Can be upgraded for about $1500 in parts. Factory clutch has a 1/12 warranty.
Door seals on 04 and 05 just like the other Rams.
Crank pully bolts work loose. Check them at oil change time, 120 ft/lb.
BAD brake dust, $100 for aftermarket pads fixes this.

Personally I would try to get an 05, but if you came upon an 04 for the right price or circumstances, like I did with Bobby Hamilton's truck, then go for it.

 

Im really glad you posted the differences in the 04 and 05/06 models. I want one but i have to sell the 2 trucks i have now before i sign the papers.

 

can anyone tell me the diference between the gear ratios and performance of the standard vs qaud cab i kinda wanted the 4 door with the manual but trhat wont happen

 

There are conversion kits that can make for QC auto into a manual shift. You can have what you want. As with everything about the 10, all it takes is $$$$$$.
