99 ram 2500 backfire
Hey RamVanners, I have a 99 2500 ram van, 318. Stutters and backfires at low speed. Replaced plugs which all looked good, replaced cap and rotors, which were bad. Wires look good. Engine light says an o2 sensor is a problem. Would that cause back firing. Thanks for input. Jim

Engine light. Usually, the digital odometer shows the codes for the O2 sensor once the key dance of off/on 3X is done. What codes are showing up?
If it is the O2 sensor by verifying the codes, then do that.
There is a TSB for our Magnum engines and the proper routing of the ignition wires. Check the wires to prevent grounding out to the block or the wires crossing to cause pre-ignition and backfiring.
