91 B250 a/c compressor cycles...only when driving?
Basically what the title says. I recently had the evaporator core changed out, due to a leak, along with the drier and expansion valve so the system can properly be converted to 134a (single unit, no rear air). All seems fine, but an odd thing that I've noticed is that the compressor seems to be cycling, but only when I'm driving and the engine is at a higher RPM. It does NOT cycle when parked/idling.
I don't think the compressor clutch is slipping, because I can actually hear it click on and off when I'm driving. It'll engage for 5-7 seconds, air will get pretty cold, then cut off for 5-7 seconds, air gets warmer... And so on
It seems strange. Usually it's the other way around, which makes me think that it might possibly be overcharged?
I didn't want to sink $40 into a can of 134a with a gauge on it before I came here first to ask.
Thanks,
Nat
