Default 1997 Dodge B2500 Oil pressure drop

I recently bought a 1997 B2500 Van and we took at 250 mile trip upon return within 15 miles of the house I hit the brakes hard and turned to the right quickly. We sat and idled for about 5 minutes and took off again that is when my oil gauge pressure went to 0 and the red light came on, I pulled over when I could but the continued to run fine but the light was on and pressure 0. As I had my van full, I continued for another mile or so and pulled into a station, shut it off and recheck the oil, and for leaks, no leaks found but the oil was app. 1/2 quart low. Started it back up and everything was normal, ran it another 10 miles to home with no problems. Not sure what is happening, I have been told maybe because of the hard braking and turning that pickup tube came out of oil. Or maybe the sending unit needs replacing. Engine runs fine now. We are getting ready for a Cub Scout campout this weekend and need this fixed. Also, just found out from the old owner that he hasn't replaced the oil and filter in like 25000 to 30000 miles. Thanks.

With information like this at hand are you really questioning us on this forum as to what the problem could be?

Did you by any chance mean 2500 to 3000? If not, do an oil and filter change, then see if the problem is gone.
