I believe 98-03 are the same.

Correct. However, if you are willing to change the support base (the metal C frame that bolts to the floor) you will have many more options. For example, you can use a 97 seat in a 98 if you swap out the seat and the frame. Lots more work but maybe worth it depending on your situation.

Check the junkyards at this site for them. You can sort by distance to find the ones nearest you.

If changing out the seat for a pre-1998, just be careful about the air-bag control unit under the driver's captain seat. Still need to have clearance there too.

Yes, and am I the only one who finds this location extremely annoying?

I can't fit anything under the drivers seat so I end up stowing it all under the passenger seat. Yes, we have acres of space but not where I really need it!

Better not to store anything under the driver side seat anyway; if you have to stop stort all that **** ends up under the pedals.

Hey Rusty or anyone familiar with the process, I am going to change the stationary passenger front seat out of my 1999 ram van conversion (I would like to do the same with the driver). I am going replace it with the back, single swivel seat, the ones that swivel 360 degrees.

I notice I may have to change the support base, any tips and or a how to, to make sure I don't get stuck...

thanks in advance!!!

I'd love to see pics of your conversion Buying a 99 1500 tomorrow. I have to add in 2 seats for my kids which led me to this post.
