Perfect silicone bypass hose for water pump
#11
Even if it does, it doesn't matter. The nipple the hose connects to is a bit smaller, so the bushing will not pass through should it slip. You can also place an extra hose clamp on the bypass hose where the bushing is to hold it in place and prevent seepage around the outside of it.

I think we may be talking about two different engines. Rockauto show that the bypass fits 318 engines between 1970 and 1991 with dimensions of 1" x 6".
I pulled an original off my van and it said 1" plus it had a Chrysler part # on it. 25 years is too old even though it had a nice orange inner layer in it so I'm off the road until I can find another one. That's the last of the original hoses on my van and as the first poster said, this would not be fun to fix on the side of the road.

The bypass for the 5.2 Magnum is approx 4 to 4.5 inches, the bypass for the 318 LA is 6.5 inches. The LA was a helluva good engine in its day but they completely redesigned the Magnum series keeping only a few specifications.
