Pesky reverse light problem
I have a '94 B250 with the 727 transmission. The reverse lights only come on when I jiggle the gear shift while in reverse. In searching the internet, I found an article that refers to a "rooster comb" that swipes across the neutral safety switch and has a detent the NSS contact sits in when in the gearshift is in reverse. You evidently have to remove the pan to get to it.
The NSS has been replaced twice, so the problem may be in this piece.
Does anyone know what this "rooster comb" is really called, and where can I get one?
I have temporarily wired a 12 v micro-buzzer inside the van in the reverse light circuit so I can tell when the lights are on.
Thanks
