Sorry, but no, they are not permanently glued together. You can remove the headlight assembly from the mount bracket by pulling up on the 2 release tabs. That's how you change the bulbs. The new assemblies come with the mounts because the headlight adjusters are on the bracket and if you just replace the headlight itself you will still have the old adjusters.

Blackvan; thanks for the info. do wonder tho if its glued together how do you adj, the headlights if your running a heavy vehicle all the time as ours is a small motorhome??

On my 2000 headlamp aiming is done by adjusting the bolts holding those brackets. There are quick release tabs at for the top bolts that simply pull up allowing you to preserve the current setting.
