Okay, so this may sound a little odd. but my van is just that. odd.
when ever i drop to the empty line for fuel my van will not shift out of first gear?
I know that the transmission has nothing to do with the fuel, right?
but now also its having way to hard of starts like its starving for fuel. I recently had a problem with the neighbors siphoning gas. every time the did it would run rougher and rougher.
unless I had an 1/8 of a tank or more. then it runs like a champ.
i don't understand it. anyone i ask doesn't understand it. and I am not all that financially stable enough to take it in.

The fuel act like a heat sink for the fuel pump motor. Because of that, once the fuel level is below 1/2 a tank the pump starts to become exposed. This results is the pump running hotter. When an older pump runs hotter it starts to not perform well and eventually it fails. This sounds like what's happening with your van.
