Default 1990 Voltage Regulator

Hi Everyone:
My first post is about my 1990 Ram Van ( 318 ).

My Volt gauge (dash) always was a little over half ( needle ).
But now it is below half, into the discharge area.
I have a few spare Voltage Regulators, but I can't seem to find where it is on my Van.
Rockauto.com lists one for my Van, but not in 1991.
Is the Voltage Regulator built into the Alternator??????

Ken

Have you had the battery and alternator checked?

No I have not checked.
With engine running should the alternator be putting out somewhere around 14 volts and the Battery should be putting out around 13 volts ???

The battery not running was 11.6.
Running the battery was 13.6.
So I guess it's the battery.
