i am very happy i came here for help, you helped me out a lot.
i probably would have tossed in air shocks and called it a day.
$390 is a lot easier to save up then $650.
it's a Dodge so you have to do it right the first time, if it was a Ford or Chevy i would duct tape some coil springs from a Yugo to the top of the leaf springs.

i ordered Hellwig Products 991 Helper Springs.
i can't afford the $390 for the new springs so i am hoping this will remedy it.
i take everything out of the van and the springs are still straight and the back end is the same height, i know i am nowhere near load capacity, the springs are just worn but not broken or cracked.
i hope this is a good fix, i estimate that with everything i am putting into the back it will be probably around half or a little over half of the load capacity.
all of the wood in the back weighs under 500 pounds, there is a maximum of 20 gallons of water on the passenger side and 240 pounds for the batteries on the drivers side.
the battery box is actually directly behind the driver seat so the rear springs won't take the bulk of the weight.
i am going to weigh the van when it is completed in the back and if i am over the limit i will have to go with 7/1 springs.
gotta love dodge for the power, i have a corporate HD 9.25 rear end with 3:92 gears according to the VIN and it pulls like it is empty in the back.
