Default No Crank

Been dealing with starting issues intermittingly and now doesn't start at all. 94 5.9L Auto

Everytime it happens it is a No Crank situation. All i get is the starter Clicking

My understanding is I should be narrowing it down to one of these conditions...
  • Ground cable/terminal (tired a jumper cable to chassis, didnt help). Cables and connections look decent though
  • Bad Battery - After some reluctance I replaced the battery even though it tested fine according to Advance Auto.
  • Starter relay - cant i bypass the relay at the starter by jumping the ignition/'s' terminal directly to the battery terminal (leave field terminal alone)? I'm not really sure what terminals I should be jumping here. I tried a few different things and got either sparks or just clicking.
  • Bad starter - Replaced solenoid internals in starter.
  • Neutral Safety Switch (NSS) - my reverse lights work so this should be good right?
  • PCM - Tried my backup PCM (which I've previously confirmed works for my vehicle)
  • Fusible links look good
  • Ignition Switch??? Would I even get a start click if this was bad?

Anything I'm missing? Any guidance before I just start swapping in new parts?

Do I need to worry about CPS, TPS, MAP sensors if it doesn't even crank? I thought thats more of a concern if it cranks but doesnt start.

could be a lot of things, or one simple thing..... need to start tackling 1 by 1 and see what improves.... I had my ign switch go on my old Toyota, and jiggling the key in hole would always work.... Got away like that for 6 months until I finally just said screw it, and got a new switch

It sounds like the brushes in the motor are shot also.

The 2 outside terminals make contact to complete the reverse light circuit. The center terminal goes to ground to enable the starter relay circuit. So the reverse lights can be working fine even though the neutral safety portion of the switch is fried. However, IMO your problem is a bad starter motor.

replaced the starter. at first just clicks. finally got it turning over with jumpers from a running car (even though battery is new yesterday and sat overnight with charger/tender on it).

i got spark at the coil pack. if it was the asd relay would it still get spark? this rules out a bad pcm, right?

seems like its not getting fuel now. just put a new bosch pump in the fall and was working great. guess i'll go get some starter fluid and and see if starts after some sprays down the throttle bodyl maybe try to get my hands on a fuel gauge.

man, i'm all over the place with this.
