Grease compatibility

Grease compatibility
I want to grease my suspension joints. The problem:
http://www.machinerylubrication.com/...-compatibility
(look specifically at the table in that link).
Short of cleaning out every joint and using a new grease, what do people do? Just cross my fingers and assume some lithium complex (or compatible) grease is currently in the joint? So I should just use a lithium complex in those joints and call it good?
It would be perverse for any owner, or the factory, to use something not compatible with lithium complex. Who in the world uses barium complex, bentonite clay or polyurea anyway?
I guess for most joints the plan is to push lithium complex in there until it comes past the boot, and replace any broken boots first. For wheel bearings I will probably clean them out because what's in there looks dirty, get a new seal at least, replace bearings if the old ones are bad otherwise clean them out and put all new grease in there. I wonder how full to make the cavity? Probably not good to get so much in that it pushes past the seal and gets on the brakes. I sure like my small trailer wheel bearings with no brakes and a zerk, sure makes maintenance easy.
