Default Wiper motor wiring and voltage

Darn, I realized i posted this in the wrong forum. Sorry for that, i'll delete it from the other thread.

My wiper motor was not functional when i got the wan and i realized the motor itself was broken. Ordered a used one but the connector did not really fit, so i made my own temporary "adapter" just for testing. Still don't work. (Yes, all fuses are ok).

First question since it has never worked: how do i know what position i have it in? If i turn the wiper wheel back (clockwise if you stand on the driver side and look at it) it should be off..?

Second question: what voltage should i expect on the connectors in the picture attached? Which one does/is what and in what positions on the wiper controlo wheel should i expect what?

Thanks in advance!

From what I have read on here you need to have the motor grounded to the chassis to provide the ground return. It will never work dangling like that.

Ah sorry, that image is a bit unfair. I have a wire bolted in the hole in the bottom there to the minus pole. I got this extra ground wire installed since i suspected bad grounding before.

Alright, my Hayne's manual has a bit of info on the wipers.

For 1991 through 1997 Intermittent Wipe Switch Continuity (position and continuity listed)
OFF Pin 6 and 7
DELAY Pin 8 and 9, 2 and 4, 1 and 2
LOW 4 and 5
HIGH 4 and 5

Max delay position resistance should be between 270,000 and 320,000 Ohms
Min delay position should be close to 0 Ohms (0 Ohms when meter is set to high range)

Steve

Did you try hooking the motor directly up to 12v to make sure it works? Did you test light the connectors to see if the switch was working?
