Hey sorry i missed all the fun-Do you guys know who writes the manuals, the guys know less about the car than my 10 year old. They are writers and just turn engineering notes into easy to read books for the general. Is there a break-in--NO. Does the manufacter' want you out there beating the crap out of a vehicle they have to pay to fix for the next 3 years--NO. I build more engines in a year than you will in your entire life, the need for "engine break-in" just isn't there anymore. Do you want to know how we break-in our engines for the off-shore boats, run them about 10 minutes off idle and check for leaks-then beat the hell out of them for a half-hour. They run great-no breakage or premature wear. Do what you want, I am here as an expert to offer advise-take it or leave it I don't care.

Considering that I distribute beer, wine and liqours for a living, that is a definite possibility....thanks for sharing though.

The manual says the break -in only lasts for 300 miles. It makes no mention of changing the oil early. I am sure if they were worried about it they would suggest an oil change before 3k miles.

Man. Is it getting hot in here or what? I completely forget what the thread was about now.[sm=smiley24.gif]

Roadswimmer. No offense guy, but you shouldn't be so sensitive to this stuff. Maybe I'll see ya over on the other forum.[sm=smiley20.gif]
