Default air cond.psi too high

i would like some help on an ac
i have two trucks doing the same thing they are both 2000 dodge ram desials
ac compreser is showing 50psi on low side and starts at 200psi on the high side but the hi side keeps going up to about 425 when the overload switch turns off the compreser
could the drier or oraves tube cause this or what might it

Almost sounds like you may have too much refrigerant in your system.

well i just finished an automotive air conditioning class so i know some stuff on this subject. first if you have a fixed orifice tube you dont have a receiver driver so you need to figure out which you have first. my dodge has an orifice tube but its a 96 and not diesel. if it has an orifice tube heres how you can figure it out. find the high side line and this should be hot after the condensor outlet.... then as soon as the line changes from hot to cold thats where your restriction is... it should change temps at the fixed OT...if it changes before then your restriction may be in your condensor. if you have a receiver drier the temperature should change at the thermostatic expansion valve which is after the R/D. hope you find this helpful.
