Default RE: How many Stealth owners do we

Hey everybody, another new member lovin the site! Im totally blown away by the stealth and would soon love to become an owner. Im 18 years old, have a steady job, and have a chrysler daytona as it stands. I have done a few things to it, it is in minty shape and i usually get lots of compliments on it, but when i see a stealth drive by, i want to hide my car in shame!! Anyways, i live in Canada...Manitoba to be exact. We dont have the greatest selection of these beautiful cars but i would love to get some information on any Canadian stealths out there. The specs on the year/make and how you guys like driving them. I have never been in a stealth, but i could only imagine. Also if you guys could help me out on prices...what would be a good price for a certain year/model. Im sorry i have to ask all these questions here but i just cant find alot of info on them and thought you guys would be the best place to ask. Anyways, ill be checking here regularly! Thanks for all your help and I'm jealous of ALL OF YOU!

I own a '93 Stealth R/T( at least that what I was told and how Registered it. It is the 3000 DOHC with only single exhaust but the rear bumber has two opening for dual exhasut) Put a $4000 CDN custom Orange and Black paint on it with a ARPerformance Wing. Left the stock wing on, it still looks awesome. Tried to post some pictures but I guess they are to large in memory - try again when the snow goes away.
I have one little problem though. Last fall I had put new 265-55-16 Hancooks on it and was at set of lights and just had to show this Ford a thing or two. Damn good grip, left him spining his tires. But got a bad wheel hope around 5 grand. Now the Tour/Sport light keeps flashing. Tested the module in the back passenger panel and seems just fine. Could I of broke a Strut? Anything else I should check first? I haven't tested the connector under the drivers seat yet.
Thanks Darrell

So, is it a Stealth or a 3000GT. If it is a Stealth w/ a 3kgt bumper it would have the dual outlets. On the RT stealths, there is a way to cut out the place where the passenger side exhaust would be. I have read that wheel hop can be caused by faulty motor mounts. I don't know what could be wrong with the tour/sport mode. How does it ride, does it feel like it is in sport, or does it feel like it is in tour mode? Does it change when you press the button? Take off the caps of the front struts to make sure everything is still hooked up properly, you may have loosened a connection when you had the wheel hop.

Let us know what it turns out to be.

The front bumber has "STEALTH" molded into it but there is no markings or nameplate on the rear bumber. When I bought the car the guy said this was way the R/T's were. Dual outlets under the bumber but only single exhaust. Is there any other tell tale in or on the car to tell if in fact it is a R/T. Or should I do some searching with the VIN? Is there a differnce between a "Plain" Stealth and a "R/T" Stealth? MIne is loaded with leather and electronic climate control. As for the mode, it feels like it stuck in the Tour mode. Nothing changes when I push the Mode button, it just keeps flashing. I have checked the connections on top of the strut tower - power and continuity seems good. Is there more connections I should look at under the black caps. I'll check it out.
Thanks Darrell

Well, that car in the attachment is not a Stealth lol. Very nice looking stang. The rear bumper should say Stealth RT on it under the passenger side tail lamp. The RT's only had single exhaust exiting on the drivers side. The plain jane model Stealths did not have as "aggressive looking" ground effects on them. They also had body color sail panels (c-pillar covers). The RT/TT did have dual exhaust outlets. Your car is not a TT correct?

As far as your tour/sport mode check this guys site.

Great links. Thanks Will keep looking. As for the 69 Mustang (Embarasing to say on this forum) But it's mine also. My son was showing me how to post the Stealth pictures and we kept getting "Page could not be dis" error and tried the Mustang pic and could not remove it. That Ford I was refering to was the stang with my son driviing it. We were on Main Street, Moose Jaw and just could not resist. I had taken the 8" rear end out and put a 9" with 4.11's. When the light turned green the Stealth just snapped right up, In the rear view all I could see smoke and the front of the stang. Son said it launched good but could not get traction. Need bigger tires I quess, still have the 24" dia. on it... Was always a MOPAR fan, used to own a 68 Sport Satellite, 383, Hurst knife - Then got married. Was looking for a Cuda or Challenger back in '97 came across the Mustang at excellent price. $6000.00 later This is what I have. Damn expensive to work on, them stangs. Going to get some smaller memory pictures of the Stealth soon and I will post them. No the Stealth is not a Twin Turbo, just the 3000 DOHC. There is no marking below the tailight, would it be molded in or just a emblem?

Sorry for going on and on Darrell

It is molded into the body work. If you think the mustang is expensive, wait until you have to repair the Stealth. How many miles are on it. If it has more than 60k look into replacing the water pump and timing belt. You do not want a T-belt failure.

Looking at the rear bumber, I looked to see if they had patched it where the "Stealth" should be and looks good. Looked under the car and can't see any damage evidence, cause maybe it was replace because of an accident. The car was an Emerald green before we painted it and when we were prepping it there was no signs of any filler. The bumber looked like original paint but maybe it was replaced at one time.Where might of this bumber come from? Could it be an aftermarket? The Stealth has 158k on it now, had it for over a year now and so far only had to replace the clutch slave cylinder. Very easy to replace and bleed and only $69 CDN at NAPA ($122 at Chrysler). Hopefully my Tour/Sport problem will be cheap and easy also. (Fingers are crossed)

Here are some pics of a Stealth ES, Stealth RT, Stealth RTTT, and a Mitsu 3000VR4. This may help you tell what the rear bumper came from. I think, but am not certain, that the badging on the 3000 is removable. The key difference between the 3000 and Stealth is around the liscense plate. Hope this helps.
