loose rattling noise near engine area
Hi all
I own a '99 Stratus with 222K on it. I have noticed in the past month a "loose rattling" sound, similiar to a muffler being dragged on the ground. It was really bad today, so I looked and didn't see anything dangling. It is not there at highway speeds. It seems to be at city and round town I notice it.
The car does require a head gasket replacement for about a year now. The tie rods have been replaced, as well as the right front tire's wheel bearings. The distributor cap has also been replaced.
Any ideas as to what the cause of the noise is?
Thanks Guys!

RE: loose rattling noise near engine area
my '02 has the same. 4dr SE 2.7 V6 (you didn't say the eng type). on mine the cats are bolted to the exhaust headers. turns out the cat-a-list (spell?) is loose inside. i checked the price and thought WTF!$!$!$$$$!, it runs fine, still rattles. happy motoring.
