Default RE: 02 Stratus R/T tail lights?

I've never seen anything but OEM tail lights for the strat, not even on ebay

I've seen a lot of people paint them though and it looks great.

They Don't make any aftermarket Tailights or Headlights for the strats, everything has to be custom made. People do paint their Tailights though.. Some also paint the lights to match their paint but leave the inner circles red?

Thanks for the replies! I guess she is just SOL on finding clear tail lights for her car. And if she does find them some time I will post where she got them, but that doesn't sound like it's going to happen any time soon............

Nate - Are the lights that you show in that photo done with a translucent paint? I would assume that you couldn't do it with anything opaque, or the illumination would not show through. If it IS translucent, you should be able to "smoke out" the entire head light too, huh?

I just looked at some photos in Badstrat's album, and it looks like he did pretty much the same thing. So, it this done with a can of transulcent tint spray or what? I like it.

Okay, so after only a tiny little bit of digging, I found the JDM faux paint on ebay. Found sever other threads on other forums about it too. Some of the people there recommended seperating the lens from the head light with a heat gun and painting the inside of the headlight lens instead of the outside because the paint has a tendancy to crack and chip if bugs or pebbles hit it.

I'll look at some hobby shops and auto parts stores before paying the $8.00 shipping on ebay. It looks like a can would only cost about $5-$7.

For my headlights I just used Duplicolor general purpose semi-gloss spray paint "DA 1603". Here's the how-to for the JDM mod http://www.2gstratus.org/forums/inde...JDM+headlights.

Here are some pics of my JDM's before my retro fits.
