1996 dodge stratus 5 speed clutch problems

Hi my name is Carlos Perez and here is a short story rendering me with this really gay problem.[/align][/align]OK here is what happened, i was going toa friends house in Shamokin Pa from Mount Carmel Pa about 11 to 13 miles apart, and there i was going about 55MPH i was breaking normally and reducing gears normally in 4Th gear i sloe down to about 45 to 50 mph and i go to shift into 2ND gear, i Had the clutch peddle down about half way and as i was pulling it into 2ND the clutch peddle just went limp with no residence except for the spring on the peddle and i was no able to shift using the peddle i thought i blown my clutch for a min until i remembered that i can try to power shift so i did. i was able to rev the engine and slip it into3rd gear so i proceeded to go down gears and so on. there was a red light up a head luckily it was green and the 2ND light was green to so there was no need to stop. i eventually got to a parking space on the side of the High way (in town). soi initially shut off the car, then i remembered i need to push the clutch in to start the car if u don't the car will not turn over (that is normal to my knowledge) so i was like o ****! well i proceed to start the car any way, but no i do notneed to push the clutch in to start the car that was a surprised to me. so i called my mom to come pick me up. she did and after telling here the story i asked her to ask her boyfriend to bump me back to Mount Carmel knowing that i can slip in in to gear at about 5mph and shift from there, he had to give me a bump at about 3 stop signs and 2 red lights. We eventually made it home with no other problems.[/align][/align]so here is the problem summed upthe clutch peddle is now useless rendering the car useless i checked the linkagebetween the clutch peddle and the main housing and the cable is still good on both connections the peddle and the IGuise clutch or transmission idk in not a mechanic. So there is my problem can anybody help diagnose the problem or/and help with a resolution???[/align][/align]PS.Thank you for your time and i mean that it takes a lot to understand what i rote i have ****ty grammar.[/align][/align][/align]
