A friend of mine has an '06 Stratus, V6, disc/drum brakes that squeek from the rear any time the brakes are applyed. We've cleaned and adjusted them, and that helped for a littlewhile. From what I here, it's a common problem. But are there any common fixes?
Thanks, Bill

The rear shoes are not metallic, and I've talked to other techs (I'm an ASE certified tech, and have been for twenty some years) who have changed the shoes, cut the drums did the clean and adjust and nothing has helped. When it first started, he took it to the dealer, they told him all they could do is put another set of shoes on (at his expence) and that it would do it again sooner or later. Again, it's a common problem.
seems like an annoying common problem...good luck man, if its not that bad of a squeek then i would just turn the radio up. something doesnt seem right though, the car is only a couple years old, and its already a common problem? is 06 the first year of the new body style or was that in like 04 ish? i wonder if they are having the same problem you are? ask around
