I just bought a 2001 Stratus ES what should i expect?

Hi i am new here and i just bought a 2001 Stratus Es with 95,000 miles on it. Here is what ame with the car 01 Stratus ES 2.7L V6 95,300 miles p/w p/l p/seat and some other stuff The guy who had it before me just replced all 4 tires, blower resistor, just had a tune up and a tranny fluid and filter change about 5k miles ago. I only paid $2,500. Did i get a decent deal? Also what are some common issues with this year stratus????? Thanks

I think you egt a decent deal. But at the very least, you should get all the required 90K miles maintenance done.

The most common problem with the 2.7L Magnum is the timing chain tensioner failure and oil sludge build up.

Congrats on the purchase! Make sure you change the oil EVERY 3,000 miles as the 2.7s are prone to sludge buildup. As stated, make sure all of the 90K services are complete...spending a little money now will help keep future repairs low and insure that you will be able to run the car for many many more miles!!!

I'd be looking into Timing belt, water pump, plugs and wires, wouldn't hurt to check the motor mounts aswell, the factory ones are ****.. Just some things to think about.

one problem i have with mine is the thermostat housing. Had mine replaced twice already.
