Default what would u do????

i just bought a 2001 chrysler sebring lxi sedan with autostick for $400. it has a blown piece of junk 2.7L in it. would it be easier to find another 2.7 from an 04-06 sebring since they fixed the flaw? what would have to be changed. what about a 2.4 L from another 01 sebring since this is a base engine for the model. would i have to change transmissions. would it affect the autostick. what all would need to be changed. has anyone done this before or has the same problem. im really stuck on this. what would u do, i jus want the car to run with no problems. Please help me, any input would be great. thanks.

I thought the sedans were made with a dodge motor? Maybe you could swap in a SRT4 motor into that beast..
