Default Little things needing some info...

I want to smokeout my lights, but I was wondering what would be the best application. I know there are companies that do "exact" pre-cut films that just go over your headlight/tail light. I've seen some where I replace the whole glass piece around the light itself. I was wondering, is if & when I take my car to get the windows tinted, would they be able to do the lights as well? I'm wondering what some of you others guys did or even know about the situation. I have a 02 Stratus SE if that will help anybody. I want all the red rear lights smoked out as well as the headlights.

Now also, I am wanting to do chrom trim on the door post. Is there anything specific I should know about before I go ahead & purchase these. I found some on ebay but haven't really found any other places. Again any help is appreciated!

Lastly, I know it's ridiculous to do but I want to do it, I want to replace my bench seat with two bucket seats. As far as seats go I will just be lookin at buddies seats & seeing how they fit back there. The seats in the back will be COMPLETELY stationary. So that means I will need to drill into the car itself, any warning or things I should look out for. Anything else I should really research? You guys have been of GREAT help & I appreciate anything.

Talk to night_runner from the 3rd Gen Dakota forums, he just did his cargo light and tail lights with an application called night shade.

I read that thread already. Only thing is that I'm not sure how comfortable I am doing that kind of work myself. They look great but I'm not wanting to mess something up then have to buy a new peice because I gorilla hands the glass to hard if you know what I mean.

Night shades is very easy to work with .... do very light coats and use a heat gun/blow dryer to dry between coats... keep adding coats till you get the shade you like use polish and a good coat of wax...I'd suggest getting another set at the junkyard to work with , some people have had trouble when they have to go thru a state inspection , you can just swap tails to get it to pass ...

If you can't find VHT night shades you can use Testors Model Paint in transparent black

It's very simple to do. I've done it but I didn't like the whole blacked out look. Look in my cardomain, I have my tailights tinted and color matched to my car. I had jonstintedtails.comdo my taillights. All you need to do is prep your surface maybe an 800 grit than clean it off with mineral spirits spray the Nightshades or "Pactra window tint" (That's what I first used, it dries extremely fast) continue adding coats till your satisfied, let dry for a day and put 3-4 coats of clear, than wetsand with 1000, 1500, 2000 grit sandpaper to get rid of the orange peele. Than use a rubbing compund (remember to use a lot of elbow grease to get the shine back, you also may need to repeat that step a few times, than a polish and a wax.

I'd be VERY cautious with clear ... Certain clears will turn the tails WHITE as they have a chemical reaction with either the VHT or the plastic ...

I'll make sure not to rush the process.
