Default is it weird to fill up your tank twice a week??

i have a dodge stratus 4 cylinder. now my job is about 8.86 min from the house. i take the fiancee to work in the morning. thats also about 8.86 miles. now when my girlfriend is off. she drives me to work and ill take the bus home. thats 2 days a week. yet im filling up 2x a week. it costs $60 bucks. the one thing is that we live outside of philly. so there is a lot of stop and go. its not like we go anywhere far. i know she goes over her sisters house. but thats like 10 min

what mpg do you get? rather than phrasing is like an algebra question, tell us what mileage you get and i will tell you if its really bad or not...my 02 RT gets around 24 average, 50/50 highway/town, which means that every 300 or so miles i fill it up...and it generally takes around 12-13 gallons.

You have a fiancee, and a girlfriend? It all depends on your style of driving, if you have a lead foot and driving around WOT every chance, than yes, you are going to see less mileage. I get about 300-320 miles to a tank of gas on the R/T and it costs me about $55 to fill up with premium.

You shouldn't be filling up that often. I can go for over a week without filling up and get 35mpg in my 97.

Check for a hole in your tank (leak) or better yet, get a locking gas cap.

Twice a week is a bit excessive. I get 20 mpg & I'm a seasonal painter.

I wish that were realistically true..

daboywonder2002: I average about 30MPG (have seen up to 34, and as low as 26) I commute 70 miles a day,
5 days a week, with a 16 gallon tank, and usually get to ~300-330 a tank. (and I have a lead foot)
When was the last time your plug wires were changed? Throttle Body cleaned? Air Filter changed? Check your
regular maintainence.. Do you have a hole in your gas tank? haha. Just check dumb stuff... I have a 4cyl, and
think you should be doing just as good. I'm at 85k miles (:

do you not have a trip odometer on your car? you should have a knob on the dash you can push to change from Vehicle odometer to trip odometer. Just chagne to that zero it out then fill it up. Then you will know how far you are getting. I just purchased my wife an 06 2.4 srt and it looks like its getting around 300-320 a tank which is around 22mpg thats mostly city driving.. I was hoping for more but its ok since I got the car cheap.
