Default Intermitent Charge Light

I have a 96 Stratus 2.0 5spd and after about 15 miles of driving the battery light comes on on the dash. If I stop and restart it goes off. Any ideas? Update: had the alternator checked and found out it has a bad diode. Anybody know if it is possible to replace the diode or do I have to spend $160 for an alternator?

the alternator, should not cost quite that much, unless that includes installation labor. As far as just replacing the diode, good luck. no parts stores that i'm aware of carry anything that "specific"... You should get a refund for the core, maybe that price is with the core charge.

Default Update!

I found a company online that not only sells alternator and starter parts but he also helped me diagnose the problem! I told him the auto parts store tested my alternator and said it was bad diodes. He said those testers will almost always show bad diodes whether they are bad or not. I explained what it was doing and he told be what to look for. Now for $28 I'll have my parts tomorrow and saved buying a new alternator!(Which he also sells by the way) If you want to fix your own and save some money call Nation's at 888-334-2632. They were very helpful to me and I hope to send them some business!
