Default 01' RT Serpentine Trouble

Ran into some trouble with my room-mate's 01' RT with the 3L V6. The Alternator/ AC belt just randomly loosened up quite a bit. I'd say there's about an inch or more of slack in the belt right now. Just from looking at it, it seems that the belt is routed properly, but at the same time I can't seem to find a diagram for it anyplace so I could be wrong. What's the chances of it stretching that much, that quickly with out just snapping? Any advice helps. Thanks.

Okay. Apparently the adjusting bolt for the tensioner has fallen out. Does any one know what size bolt I need for that?

best bet is to just get one from the dealer, you won't have to worry about the right thead count or bolt strength (it really is a concern). if money is REAL tight check the local junk yards. i would also recomend to use lock tight when installing the replacement bolt. this is a type of glue to help keep the bolt from falling out again. be aware there are diff types, some hold alot stronger than others, you don't want have to drill the bolt out. check with the seller to make sure you have the right type.

I have no answer for your question but this may help. It's the online Factory Service Manual. Disreguard the eclipse part, the 3g eclipse and our cars are the exact same. Hope this helps.

I called the dealer but they said the bolt was pretty far out for shipping so I figured out the size. It's 10 X 1.25 if anyone ever needs it.
