Default Installing aftermarket stereo setup in '04 RT

I purchased an '04 RT a few months ago and love it. Now, I'm looking to upgrade the sound system and looking for a few tips.

The first thing I am wondering is where I can run the amplifier power wire. It would be nice if there was an existing grommet in the firewall I would be able to route the power wire through.

This car also has the Infinity stereo with seven speakers I believe. Not sure if this is going to complicate the installation of a new head unit.

If anyone has any information on these topics I would greatly appreciate it.

For the cleanest install, you will want to pull the drivers side fender well liner out, then use the existing grommet that holds the main wiring harness.

Thanks for the reply.

Do you have any ideas on the Infiniti sound? When I pulled the stock stereo out, there was a two wire harness that I'm not sure what it was for.

You have to get the correct harness to plug into. There are two different ones. (One for Infinity, and one for non-Infinity models. Look it up on Crutchfield.com. You will also need the piece that goes around the stereo, that fits in the radio bezel/ dash.

Edit: Hopefully this link will work for you. It has a step by step how to for the car (I assume you have the coupe)

Looks like this is the harness:

Here is my HU with the bezel piece.
