00 Stratus ES radio/dashlights problem

I installed an aftermarket radio and the setup works great. But the dashlights will not go on, at all. I played with the wires and found the one to make them work, but it means they stay on all the time. WTF? What can I do to jump them or at least get my dashlights working right again?

First things first ...
Did you check the fuses ??? during the install you might have blown the illumination fuse

You might be cross wires to backfeed to get them lit ...

you might also have the radio wired incorrectly, what wire did you connect off the harness for illumination ???
