Car dies, then sometimes it starts immediately.

Have a 99 status v6 with approx 215k. Filter was completely clogged when I got it, so I replaced the filter and fuel pump thinking this was the problem. The car might run a week with no problems or it will die 5 times in a day. All trips are shorter than 6 miles and it can happen when it warms up or trying to start it in the morning. WTF
