Angry The joy of driving 100 miles in 1st gear....

Now what..........Seen some things for solenoids, speed sensors, stuff like that... Would work ok sometimes, not sure how or why, tons of miles on this car. Id really like to have it go to 200k, but not sure. Good shape, good paint, bone stock, does alright by me till now. Ive got the paperwork from the scan i had done at a trans shop in Stillwater MN, will repost. Get started and tell me how to fix my car!

My '99 had the speed sensor fail or get 'knocked off' from the rough roads in Jackson, MS. I couldn't get past 30 MPH and was around 3,000 RPMs. Speedometer wouldn't work, so that was the tell tell sign.

It was terrible. Replaced the speed sensor, after Aamco tried to get me to replace my transmission, of course. The losers, you let them think you don't know anything about cars and they'll try to BBQ you. Replaced the speed sensor for $50 and it drove like new. The computer won't allow the car to shift without being able to read the speed you are traveling. It didn't car for RPMs. <_<

I have the same problem with a 2004 Dodge Stratus 2.5v6. It wont shift out of second, The speedometer is out and it frequently stalls when stopped?

Will a new Speed Sensor fix this? Can any one link a decent diagram of it's location.

-Not much of a gearhead (still learning)
