Default Fan blower motor

My son has a 2001 Dodge Stratus. Few years back, fan stopped blowing on setting 1-low. Then maybe 9 months ago, setting 2 went out. Now just the other day, both 3 and 4 went out as well. Up until they went out, I had no problem with the temperature it blew (both heat and a/c) or with the direction of where it blew.

I'm not a mechanic my any means, so any basic info would be helpful. Is it simply a blower motor resistor (saw on another posting elsewhere).
