Stratus repair costs seem reasonable?
Hi and thanks in advance,
This is the first car I've owned in over four years so I'm a bit out of touch with what things cost. These guys seem like honest folk and it's a small family-owned garage that is highly recommended by the locals. If you can help set my mind at ease then I won't have to worry about having future repairs done there.
Replace passenger side CV axle: 270.00
The mechanic couldn't get the old axle out without breaking the wheel bearings. He said it's pretty rare that it happens but sometimes they get 'welded' in there and have to be broken off. Repair cost includes CV axle, new wheel bearings, and two hours of labor (most of which was spent trying to get the old axle out).
Drivers side lower control arm/ball joint and sway bar link: 212.00
Cost includes new control arm assembly (Dorman), sway bar link kit (Moog) and two hours of labor. I'll have to have an alignment done somewhere else as these guys don't have the facilities to do those.
Thanks for any advice,
Jim
