Default Heavy vibration

My girlfriend's '98 Dodge Stratus Sedan 2.4 has developed a heavy vibration apon accelleration. I have checked the motor mounts because they are easily visable and they look fine. I also don't get the "clunk" that commonly accompanies bad motor mounts. Still I hold the trannie mount suspect mainly because it feels like the engine wants to vibrate off the car when you gas it. Any ideas on what this might be? The strut mounts are relatively new too.

Thanx, Cornfed20

Default RE: Heavy vibration

Well, it appears there isn't anyone out thre that had any insight to my little problem. I did find the culprit however. An extremely warped rotor on the driver side front brake was the problem. There was no vibration when braking which still perplexes me but R&R of the pads and rotors fixed it right up. Go figure.
